FAQS

How often do update your store?

My ceramics are completely handmade, and each one can take many weeks to complete. It is not a process that can be hurried, and many things can go wrong during the process like cracking, warping and more before they even make it to the kiln. They can also crack or explode in the kiln - then the whole process needs to start from the beginning.

So, I make in batches, or to order. If there is something specific you would like, please email me at [email protected]

Do you ever offer commissions for your artwork?

At the moment, no. I have a lot going on between all of the creative goings on, and I'm really enjoying just being able to pick up pencil or paintbrush and make whatever I am feeling. I will post in my newsletter if I open up commissions in the future.

Can I pay via direct transfer? I don't have a PayPal account

You don't need to have a PayPal account to pay. You can use it like an online eftpos machine by adding your card details during checkout. It's just like when you pay in a store, and their machine may be from a bank different than the bank you use. Same thing, except it's online. I don't offer direct transfers as I have had issues in the past.
I have only ever had PayPal as a payment system in my stores since 2007. I used to have Laybuy for payment installments, but their system does not intergrate with my new storefront.

Are your ceramic items dishwasher safe?

Yes, all items are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe except for decorative Christmas items. While they are dishwasher safe, hand washing is preferred to prolong the quality of your item.

How do I place a custom order?
Now and then custom items become available. However, this is not always possible as it takes a long time to create custom pieces. When these custom items become available, they are advertised on my social channels and you can also find them in the store from time to time.

What is your refund/shipping policy?
I make every effort to inspect each item before it leaves the studio. Should you happen to find a functional fault, please contact me at [email protected] with the issue, within 7 days of receiving your items, and I will direct you on what to do next. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging. You'll also need to order/invoice number.

Returns are not accepted after 14 days of delivery. Return postage is at customers own expense.

Custom ordered items can not be refunded or exchanged. So please choose carefully.

Variations in pieces.
Please note that all of Marley & Lockyer's items are completely handmade from natural elements. This means items may vary slightly from measurements and images shown online. Each piece is unique in its own way, and slight differences in clay/glaze/ print may vary. Some prints will be lighter/deeper, artwork darker/lighter, glaze variances and slight shape changes that happen during the firing processes. It’s all a part of the honest nature of clay and handmade, and it’s what we love about the Marley & Lockyer collections.

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalised items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

When will I expect to receive my order?

Once you have placed your order, your item will be shipped as soon as possible, with the exception of custom or pre order pieces. As I have a lot of orders to pack each week, sometimes it may take a few extra days.

Within Australia it can be 3 -7 days, overseas items can take 10-21 days to arrive. Please note Covid-19 has slowed shipping down at this time.
When your item ships, you will be provided with a tracking number so you can see where your order is during its journey to you.
We use Australia Post to ship our items worldwide.

International orders.

We ship worldwide. Please get in touch if your country does not show during checkout for a shipping quote. Once an order leave the studio, the package is in the hands of the postal carrier and customs. Marley & Lockyer are not responsible for any taxes or customs charges.
*the exception to this is the UK due to their new tax laws. I am keeping my eye on any new developments with this*

Can you tell me what you use to create your products?

While I’m flattered that you love my work, I have been creating the Marley & Lockyer style since 2007. It’s a lot of trial and error and a lot of hard work. I encourage you to create your own style, and enjoy the process. You’ll get much more reward out of creating your own style, than copying someone else’s.
